International Co-operation and Influential Reforms

This chapter focuses on four national reforms that started in the second half of past century and were influenced by international movements, some during their implementation period, others being still influential today. Each them led or strongly prominent mathematicians these mathematicians’ epistemology. However, specificities seem more noticeable than commonalities. We start with a short description modern mathematics reform France, one leading countries New Math period contrast it Hungarian case Tamás Varga’s reform, an example assimilation debates local specificities.
